The Girl That Lay Locked Away

A Poem by Amanda R.

The girl that lay

Locked away

In a room of flowers

Gold and silver aligning the walls

Gated from the adventures of scoundrels

Sealed far away from the cursed

Within in those walls lay a girl

A girl young and fair

Trapped but shielded from the chaos

A girl well aware

Of what was churning

Thorns could grow

If hail shall fall

That girl  lay still

Still beneath the stars

Hidden and kept

But still she felt unrest

Paintings faded and the girl still lay

Her hair now muddled

Her eyes grey

Though now awake and weary

As other left there padded homes

The girl that lay remained

Awaiting the day to be woken

Awoken from the timelapse,  she obeyed

She watched as other began to move

And with them the cities

Cities that once grew cold

As the world warmed the girl was left alone

Cold in a room

A room full of flowers and gold
