Pandemic

Writing by Henry W.

With the pandemic still going on in the U.S, the coronavirus has harmed millions of people in ways which society never would have predicted. The harm has been asking these people to stay in their homes, everyone forced to step out of their comfort zone. This pandemic has put us all in a new situation, and for me it has offered a totally new perspective. I’ve learned how to be happier, find things to do in my free time, and embraced this new way to look at life. I’ve mostly learned how to be disciplined. I wake up every morning and think to myself what can I do?I find inspiration from almost everything in my house. Whatever I see, I try to make a game or lesson. For example, if I see my family cooking a meal, I will go online and try to learn how to make it myself. Or even just collecting wood outside, that becomes my new workout space! What I’ve enjoyed the most is being with family. I can now understand them. I have gained insight as to where they feel the most anxious and where they feel the most relaxed. I can tell when they need support and what I can do to make them feel happier. All in all, the key point that I have taken away from this pandemic is not the harm that has been inflicted upon me, but the gifts that we can find when we look a little closer.
