I am from a blue planet of green rings

From Reese’s candy cups and thrift shops

I’m from the suburbs with a light Southern drawl, all woody and warm

It feels like a portal down to earth

I’m from the berry bush and the magnolia grandiflora, a symbol that I am home

I'm from special Sundays and long legs

From mom and dad

I’m from the outside lover and the pollen hater

From the “It’s ok” to the “You won’t make it”

I am from church steeples and holy water

I'm from New Mexico’s poverty at its finest, green chili and spoiled milk

From the lost to the rejected to the you’re ours for ever

Look all the frames scattered and broken showing a part of my life

I am from originality and built up rebellion

the survival I have obtained
