Growing Pains

What does it mean to grow up?

Is it every year your birthday comes around, or is it the feeling of you growing out of the pants you wore in middle school?

Does it mean more responsibility or more growing pains or both?

Is it feeling like just yesterday you were getting on the bus for your first day off of school? Or is it getting off the bus?

Then you spent most of your life on that bus going to school and living your life,

or is it the feeling of throwing your cap and celebrating the fact you graduated,

or is it realizing that all this time it felt like life was going to stay the same,

that you would be that kindergartner waiting nervously to get on that bus?

So what does it mean to grow up? Is it just time passing you by,

or is it looking back and seeing how much you've grown or

how much you've learned?

So what is growing up?
