Where I’m From

I am from a place of remembering.

Remembering my place in that bed.

I am from the bed in the right corner.

Sitting and staring at the door.

I am from the thought of what if they weren't okay.

I am from a place of living in a setting supposed to be home

But everyone felt like a stranger.

I am from the darkness of knowing that it might not get better.

That I might become the person that I was so angry at.

I am from unwavering thoughts of anxiety.

I am from the voices in my head.

I am from the fear that I might listen one day.

Hurt because of how I was treated.

I am from a place of isolation.
